Komatsu was founded in 1917. Takeuchi Mining Industry is the one responsible for creating what we now know as one of the biggest heavy machinery companies. A few years later after its foundation, Komatsu Iron Works became an entirely different company and were no longer with Takeuchi. They began manufacturing all kinds of trucks, and in 1931,Japansaw its first crawler-type farm tractor.
